The Canadian Association of Broadcasters (CAB) is the national voice of Canada’s private broadcasters, representing the vast majority of Canadian programming services, including private radio and television stations, networks, specialty, pay and pay-per-view services. The goal of the CAB is to represent and advance the interests of Canada’s private broadcasters in the social, cultural and economic fabric of the country. The CAB requires a bilingual Director, Research & Policy to join its team.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice-President, Research & Policy and to the Vice-President, Regulatory & Programming, the Director, Research and Policy will coordinate and implement research and policy/regulatory projects at the CAB. The successful candidate will design and conduct research projects and economic analysis; participate in the development of policy and regulatory positions; analyze and draft submissions in response to CRTC public notices; manage the work of research consultants and suppliers; provide ongoing analysis on emerging trends and liaise with public and private sector organizations.
Strong research, analytical and presentation skills are required along with issues management experience and solid experience drafting reports dealing with complex issues. Strong interpersonal skills are essential. Familiarity with the broadcasting policy and regulatory regime would be an asset.
